Join Kari Skelton as she discovers the Lois Hole Hospital’s da Vinci Robotic Surgical System – the only one in Canada dedicated to women’s health.
The Lois Hole Hospital added the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System 3 years ago, with the help of $3.5 million from donors. It’s is the only robot of its kind in Alberta solely focused on women’s health. This means that cancer diagnoses below-the-waist are likely to get in sooner for surgery rather than later. It is a known fact that battling cancer as early as possible increases the odds and this device can help us achieve that.
The da Vinci Robotic Surgical System is a minimally invasive, ultra-precise device used for women’s health to operate on cancers of the uterus, endometrium and cervix. The benefits for patients include less pain, less bleeding, a shorter hospital stay and an overall faster recovery time.
